Honoring Our Alumni

Our graduates have founded small companies that are now thriving businesses locally, nationally, and internationally. They’ve received patents for their inventions creating products which have changed our daily lives, and they've played a part in the defense and changing technology of our country. They’ve contributed to their local communities in various ways, raised families, and remained loyal to Ranken through referring their children and grandchildren for an education as well as supporting its mission financially. Our graduates are successful at both personal and professional levels. Two annual Distinguished Alumni Awards honor and recognize the success of these men and women who have made an impact on their community, in their career, and remain supportive of Ranken.   

Celebrations

Golden Graduates

Golden Graduates are alumni who are celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the graduation. Graduates gather together to share a special social evening commemorating their time spent on campus, and wearing gold caps and gowns, lead the commencement procession during Ranken’s graduation festivities.  Alumni who are eligible to attend receive a special invitation to this event held in May.

 

Silver Club

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their graduation, alumni are invited to attend a celebration on campus. Alumni gather together to rekindle old friendships and to share a special day remembering their time on campus. Alumni who are eligible to attend receive a special invitation to this event held in the fall.

Senior Celebration

This is a celebration for seniors commemorating the completion of their degree.  Held in the fourth semester, this event is held on campus in partnership with Career Services, and Continuing Education.  This celebration welcomes students to alumni status as well as provides information on graduation, careers, continuing education and their future as a Ranken alumnus. 

 

Awards

Young Alumni Award

Alumni who have completed a verifiable certificate, diploma or degree program during the years of 1992 to Present from Ranken Technical College are eligible for this alumni award.  

Distinguished Alumni Award

Alumni who have completed a verifiable certificate, diploma or degree program from 1991 and prior from Ranken Technical College are eligible for this alumni award.  

Nomination and Selection Criteria

Anyone can submit a nomination and all nominations are due by January 31 of each year for recognition at the May commencement festivities (i.e. nominations are due by January 31, 2012 for May 2012 recognition). Any nominations postmarked after this date will be carried over to the next year. Forward all nominations to:

Selection will be made by the Alumni Leadership Council on the basis of the following criteria and will recognize alumni who have:

• Achieved prominence in their profession
• Served their community through volunteer service
• Made significant contributions to Ranken Technical College
